Mini Fetes @ St Lukes
Saturdays
Easter School Holidays – Easter/Family Theme
King’s Birthday Weekend – Winter Theme
Cup Weekend – Spring Theme
The Parish has a long history of an annual fete at St Luke’s. Originally it was held in January, which was traditionally the peak tourist season. A large range of stalls and activities have been seen over the years, with many good memories shared.
For several the fete was moved to the Easter school holidays, aanother busy time on the coast.
In 2024 the Op Shop began holding a sausage sizzle on their half price sale days, and in 2025 we added a mini fete on three of these weekends across the year.
The Easter weekend is before or after Holy Week, and includes face painting provided by Scripture Union Beach Mission team, cakes, easter goods, and a variety of stalls that appeal to families and tourists.
On Grand Final day, in the more winter months includes hot soup, knitted goods, muffins and preserves.
On the Saturday of Cup Weekend, we have spring them with plants, preserves and others offerings appropriate to the season.
Everyone enjoys the vibrancy and community interaction. Tables are available inside or on the grass depending on the weather and occasionally a coffee cart is available.
